Professional Film Industry Standard Workforce Development Training to Again be Offered at Nunez Community College

Chalmette, LA—Through the support of a St. Bernard Parish Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and St. Bernard Parish Office of Film and Television, a professional film industry standard workforce development training will be offered at Nunez Community College. This program is coordinated by Jamie Landry-Zimmer, a film industry workforce development professional, and will be offered free of charge to those who qualify and are selected to participate.

September 14, 2016 (St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana): St. Bernard Parish was recently visited by GNO Inc.’s NextGen Council for a tour of its major economic contributors and emerging industry sectors.  The group of business and community leaders were introduced to several St. Bernard companies representing film and digital media, creative arts, maritime, manufacturing, and logistics. 

French America Line commits 41 jobs for St. Bernard residents

The Arlene and Joseph Meraux Charitable Foundation announced a new partnership with French America Line, America’s premium river cruise experience, to support job creation and economic development in St. Bernard Parish. As such, the French America Line will guarantee 25 jobs and 16 paid internships to St. Bernard residents, create a workforce development program, and promote tourism in St. Bernard Parish.
