SBEDF Announces Rebranding of Organization

June 29, 2016 (Chalmette, Louisiana) — The St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation (SBEDF), the official economic development organization for St. Bernard Parish, today announced its new corporate brand and logo.

The rebranded logo reflects the traditional economic sectors of St. Bernard's economy found along the river and the parish's waterways, including commercial fishing, oil and gas, transportation and logistics, and maritime operations. Concurrently, the new logo is meant to represent St. Bernard's emerging business sectors such as digital media and film, arts and culture, and startups of all industries. The double helix logo design illustrates the complementary roles our traditional and emerging sectors have in creating a prosperous economic future.

The organization's mission statement has been simplified to underscore the core values in economic development: to retain and create jobs, build prosperity, and improve the quality of life in St. Bernard Parish.

"We are thrilled with our new look," said Andrew Jacques, Executive Director of SBEDF. "Our new brand better represents our organization's vision for the future: building upon the pillars of our economy while developing economic opportunity in new and emerging sectors."

The new logo was designed by locally based evanSchmidt design, a computer programming and graphic design business based in Chalmette.
