French America Line commits 41 jobs for St. Bernard residents

The Arlene and Joseph Meraux Charitable Foundation announced a new partnership with French America Line, America’s premium river cruise experience, to support job creation and economic development in St. Bernard Parish. As such, the French America Line will guarantee 25 jobs and 16 paid internships to St. Bernard residents, create a workforce development program, and promote tourism in St. Bernard Parish.

“We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with French American Lines, which will create real jobs and measurable economic development in St. Bernard Parish,” said Rita Gue, the president of the Meraux Foundation.

French America Line is hosting jobs fairs to accept applications for a range of positions, including deckhands, kitchen staff, bartenders, waiters, porters, housekeepers, maître d’, and hotel manager. In addition to hiring residents, as part of the partnership with the Meraux Foundation, French America Line is committed to increasing tourism in St. Bernard Parish with a luxury bus tour into the parish.
